Rates & Insurance
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash, check and most major credit cards/debit cards (VISA, Mastercard, Discover, Amex), and most HSA's. I currently use Stripe through my practice management system to process credit cards. Please note that a minimal processing fee of 2% of the credit card charge is assessed if using a credit or debit card for payment.
Initial Evaluation/Intake: $125
Individual Therapy: $80-$110
Family Therapy: $100
Group Therapy: varies
Phone calls: $30 for 30 minutes (not currently billable through insurance)
Note: sessions are typically 50-60 minutes
I am a participating provider ("in-network") with the following insurance companies: Cigna, Highmark, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UPMC Commerical, United Healthcare and Aetna.
If you don't have behavioral health benefits, have recently lost coverage, or would prefer not to use your insurance (some choose this to avoid having a record), please let me know and we can discuss options. I offer a sliding scale on a limited basis.
After scheduling your initial appointment, and you are choosing to use your insurance, I will contact the respective network to inquire about benefits - which includes cost of co-payment, deductible amount, co-insurance rates, session limits, etc. However, I encourage you to contact your carrier prior to scheduling, so you can be clear about your benefits. No one likes surprises! On that note, there are times where I am quoted a particular amount (i.e. $25 copay), and after the claim is processed, I am told that the copay is a different amount - sometimes higher, sometimes, lower. I cannot prevent these instances, unfortunately.
Because I reserve your appointment time specifically for you, I kindly ask that you provide at least a 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If less than 24 hours is provided, you will be assessed a $50 cancellation fee. In these cases, I do my best to fill your slot; however, please understand that this can be difficult to coordinate with fewer than 24 hours. If your reason to cancel is an emergency, please notify me of this when you cancel, and we can discuss further. This is an important policy as it maintains a professional relationship between therapist and client.
